Unfortunately I did not get the new episode up. I will definitely edit and post it tomorrow (on a Sunday which is not something I willingly do).
This one will require editing. I just hope Garageband can handle it. If not, I'll go with Soundtrack.
I'll definitely need some feedback regarding the new layout. I've heard "it's too green" already. I have a preview available but not out in the public yet.
Oh, and when I die, everybody be a fan of mine on Facebook, will you? ;) Not that it's going to happen soon but if I'm a computer literate ghost, I want to feel the love.
Why am I craving peach cobbler? Now...?
I posted "idioPod 99: 30 Years in December" last Friday and boy was it a long one, wasn't it? One thing is bothering me though: how was the quality?
I haven't heard much of anything about it so I'm unsure how the quality is. As you know, I usually record my podcasts using an Apple iSight (external) but it's been giving me a few problems lately. Surprisingly, I really liked the sound quality from it. I switched to using Soundtrack but that won't work anymore so I'm back to using Garageband. I've tried using the internal iSight on my MacBook but it just doesn't work as well... so...
That's why I recorded it using my iPhone instead. (And believe me, I'm getting sick and tired of paying almost $100/month for that damned thing especially when I was getting a much better deal with Sprint. Who knows, maybe the LG Chocolate Touch [which is a sponsored post, guys but still relevant] is a better way to go?)
So if you've listened and the quality was good enough for you, just shoot me a message by any means necessary, you know, just whatever is easiest for you (Twitter, Facebook, a comment here, through my contact form... etc.)
And as always, thanks for listening. Your feedback is always appreciated and helpful to my recording new stuff.
Ah yes, and the next episode might be delayed. Not sure yet.
No new podcast episode this Friday... not even a video.
If you've been reading my Twitters, you'll know that my partner is in the hospital and I'll have to play nurse for a few days. That's OK. I am home right this second (he told me to eat something and go home) but I found out that it is harder than I expected. So in a little bit I will head back to comfort him.
Look for a new one next week sometime.
I'm not scheduled to release a podcast episode until Friday. Since I posted a video today, that poses a few problems with my episode length on Friday. I was just working on it and it's already near 40 minutes. That means we're looking at about 50 minutes to an hour when it's done. Usually, I wouldn't want to torture you people like that. And I know listening to podcast episode "parts" isn't the way to get it all done either. I started recording #69 late last week. So it's just building up. So this is your warning. :)
Good news is that I got enough pictures and video clips to make several videos. I'll post them when I don't have time to post a "real" podcast.
People lately have been going crazy over Susan Boyle. And if you don't know who she is by now, you're living under a big heavy rock. I honestly like the woman. It's the kind of lady who I'd like to bake me muffins, cakes and be my best friend. But it's also kind of amusing that this woman (who's a virgin) is being offered $1,000,000 to do porn. I think those in the porn industry are a bunch of ethically bankrupt, greedy assholes. Really.
I think I might be hungry now. So I'll go... away. AFTER I show you this picture:

One of my biggest issues has that I have never been totally happy with the podcast section of my website. And I've also never really made a complete website for idioPod.com. But hey, things can change right?
I'm not entirely sure if you're interested, but I've started a redesign (months ago, may I add) and this is where I am:

I usually listen to one or two songs that capture my mood while I design. This one, one that I listened to was "Spark" (the instrumental version) by Tori Amos over and over and the design was a lot darker. You could see some chalked in words on the sidewalk. Not anymore. (This also works with my "feet video" on my projects page.)
And as always, there are issues. Such as, if you visit my website with Mobile Safari (or probably any other browser that is manipulated by touch), there is no way to scroll the "guts" of it... you know, where the scroll bar is above my right foot.
But it's a work in progress. I hope to get it done soon because what I have up now is a huge mess.
You might be wondering why I am even progressing with a redesign. I wonder the same thing... but hey, if you're interested, you can go to it by going here. (Your color preferences and junk will still carry over, etc... not sure why I took a snapshot of the brown theme...)
I wanted to say Happy Easter to those who are into that kind of thing. If you're not, well, I hope you had an awesome long weekend. And if it wasn't an awesome weekend, then I am truly sorry.
For my Easter, I spent it in a little beach city close to here just walking around, eating "scones" (aka biscuits for us Americans), and discussing things about my future with my partner. It was pretty darn good.
And now, your regularly scheduled podcast news:
On Tuesday, I will again release a video podcast episode instead of an audio one because of the long weekend and I will be very busy for the next two weeks. Job interview on Tuesday and I also get my hair did and a few other things done so I'll pretty much get up and be out the door.
I am also going away next weekend (for about 4 days) so I won't be making another Tuesday deadline. Well, I should have something up for the next two Fridays (including this one coming up) and if I don't, I'm sure you'll understand. Use that time to catch up on other people's podcasts.
Also, I've kept myself afloat for the rest of this month and next month, so I'll go ahead and schedule a few more podcast episodes. (Remember, I can't promise anything!)
Yeah last night's weblog entry wasn't the best, was it? I thought about deleting it this morning, but this is what it is, a journal. And this journal needs to contain my feelings I think and the things that I do. I do realize that something needs done and it needs done urgently.
Because Monday is a holiday here, I won't be doing a new podcast episode to upload on Tuesday. Instead, I will post a new video. Tomorrow, however, that's a different story. Tomorrow I'll be posting idioPod 67 so look out for it. Depending on my plans tonight, I may or may not get it put into the feed right away so this is one of those times where it's good to read the weblog.
I'm OK. I am so tired right now and my arm hurts. So I'll probably take it easy for now and just take a nap now. Everybody have a good weekend and a good Easter if you're into that kind of thing.
First off, I don't know why every time I post a podcast episode, I feel like doing a regular weblog post. But I'll go ahead and do it because I have to tell you what I did:
While watching "The Biggest Loser", I ate a whole bacon and cheese pizza, 2 little apple pies and 4 scoops of ice cream. I feel like absolute crap! But the pizza was so good. I HAD to eat it. :) I also ate a lot of chocolate too. So "Oink, oink."
Next I wanted to tell you that I plan to release idioPod 64 on Friday. It's about depression in general. I wrote it tonight and just finished it because I have to come to terms with myself on a few things. I realized that through #61 and #63 have a lot of unresolved conflicts that I need to tackle. But at the same time, it will be one of my more informative ones because I think it's something that needs to be talked about... really.
Thirdly, I wanted you to know that I have scheduled a new vidioPod next Tuesday instead of a regular podcast. It's basically a house tour that lasts about 3 minutes. Nothing major. If you don't download it, that's fine with me. (If you don't know what vidoPod is, it's a video podcast episode. They're usually very short, sweet and to the point. I haven't posted a new one for several months.)
I also still have a major announcement that will probably be attached to the video. Not 100% sure how I'm going to handle it.
I've been playing with Windows Vista. I can kinda see why people hate it. Considering switching back to PCs with all the issues I'm having with Apple products lately.
With that said, I probably should head to bed. I did find my favorite Windows 95 background though:

OK, that did it. I'm going to sleep now.
If any of you have been looking at the calendar the day I posted it, you should check again. Originally I had planned to post a new podcast episode this Friday but I have changed my mind due to horrible time constraints. I'm going to do two next week, for sure. And I'm not that mean to do two per week every week.
Why? Well, if you're anything like me, you stop listening for 2 or 3 days and you start to fall behind. You go back to the podcast and see two were released before that, so you have three to listen to. And I can't imagine anybody wanting to sit down for an hour and a half to catch up on my nonsense. So I'll be doing my usual staggered-releases where I do two the first week and one the next.
I planned on starting at number 54 for this year and doing up to around 75. Guess what, I am already at 63. 10 more podcast episodes for the year is like doing one every month (almost). I'm not the kind of person who thinks highly of podcasters who do one show per month. And I don't particularly care for long podcasts that have 40 MB download sizes. But that's just me.
Since I'm on a podcast-themed weblog entry, I wanted to say that I have some really exciting news coming next week. And thought it's the best for me, it might not be the best for you guys. Because changing things constantly isn't really the way to go.
Ah yes, and also, this is important. I'm going to make another starting place with my podcast which I think is something I think every podcaster should also do. I mean, honestly, who wants to download something 2 years old to read the basics? I don't. I'll tell you that. So that's what I'm gonna do for #65 or #70.
So I think that's it... I think. Well for this entry, I HAVE to make another one. HAVE to.
